What was I thinking.
From reading, and concentrating at the same time, it looks like you would need to get postfix to pass to spamd /c first then to amavisd-new using a main.cf config line.
I will investigate further.

Just comment out the spam section in amavisd.conf, and then add the spamd to the default run level and put it in your .procmailrc so that mail is put tru spamd.
Thats how I run it anyway. _________________ Thanks

what if I don't have procmail install? I have problem creating virtual account with procmail, so I just use the postfix' delivery agent. Can I forward email directly to spamd from postfix? _________________ "There will be more joy in heaven over the tear-bathed face of a repentant sinner than over the white robes of a hundred just men." Umm, that I am not entirly sure of. I only use Procmail here. Ask in the Postfix mailing list. They if any one should be able to help! _________________ Thanks

You can't use spamc/spamd with amavisd-new. They are C wrappers around the spamassassin perl modules to keep them in memory, rather than having them loaded/unloaded with each mail scan. Amavisd-new is a perl program anyway that stays memory-resident along with the SA libraries. It effectively does the same thing as spamd.
hth,
Casper. |
