Here is my screenshot:

You can see that I cann't right click the desktop. I don't have icons. But panel ( top and bottom ) work fine although I cann't set it opaque. So how do I solve this problem?
Gnome 2.6.

Try removing the .gconf, .gnome, .gnome2, and .nautilus folders in your home directory. I'm not sure which controls which, but I believe it is the .gconf directory that you want to delete. That should bring your icons and functionality back.

look hm, this 'advice' is given too much at the forums. Just whacking your settings is killing a fly by using an a-bomb. You shouldn't ever need to kill your settings.
The real problem here is that nautilus doesn't seem to be running for this person, try to launch it from the menu or if that doesn't work -then there's probably something more going on- you could try starting it from a terminal see if it gives any warnings. _________________ Gentoo Gnome Desktop team |

Thx....
The problem disappear after I run nautilus from terminal...... And when I log out and log in back again, nautilus is there ready to serve me.... But still curious what cause this......... |
