|
|
Does anyone know if there's a way to administer an airport extreme base station or an airport express from a linux machine?
I've recently received two airport expresses and one airport extreme base station to be a part of remote networks maintained by me (i.e. for family members)
I've seen hints on the web that such a tool used to exist but might not any more. If this is the case, can the config tool for windows work under wine?
Thanks for any input!
P.S. This is free hardware (so no "use other hardware" comments, please) and no, the airports don't have a web-based utility. |

There's a Java-based utility available here http://edge.mcs.drexel.edu/GICL/people/sevy/airport/. I have personally never used this software, so I can't vouch for it's effectiveness. Apparently there are two version: one for the original graphite base stations, and one for the Snow and Extreme base stations (no mention of the Express base stations, but that page hasn't been updated in a while from the looks of it).
Hopes this helps.[/url] |

hmm, well i'll have to look into it. The lack of updates is a little fishy, no matter what, you'd still have to rely on a mac or windows client at some point, but this looks pretty good. Thanks a bunch. I'll reply back with how it goes. |
