Hi everybody,
I installed KDE 3.3.1, but it works only at 640x480. I found a tutorial on how to set my monitor by modifying etc/X11/XF86Config file, but I can't find that file on my system! Where am I wrong?

Than you.

Try looking for:

/etc/X11/xorg.conf if you have XOrg. If it's XFree86 look for /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 instead.

Hello...I'm having the same problem

I don't have either of the two files it mentions (in the X11 place). I do seem to have an xorg.conf.example but that doesn't appear to have all the relevant info in...what to do?

Ok....

Just found "xorg.conf.new" in the root. Do I rename this or what? It seems to have all the relevant stuff in it

Did you launch xorgconfig ? it should create xorg.conf as output...

@PeaGreen:
glad it helped, mate :)

@marakid:
same suggestion: try xorgconfig if you have X.org and xf86config if you have XFree. That should generate your missing file.
