I have a problem, because I need to install gentoo on a software-raid0. I managed to get access on a running system with a non-raid-drive to mount the software-raid0, etc...
But is there any possibility to boot gentoo from a software Raid under linux kernel 2.6.9 or a other kernel ...? |

I've got root on software RAID0. But /boot is on software RAID1. This allows grub to be able to boot a kernel, which will understand the RAID0 layout.
Maybe you should seperate /boot and /. Unless there's some way to make grub or lilo understand md raid, I don't think theres much choice. |

Yep, I had to make /boot a raid1 too. You could make only one normal partition too for /boot, and raid0 for / . |

yes but I need the sataraid, also under windows and I don't know, but I think I can't do a Raid0 und Raid1 for the same drives, so I need a drive to boot Windows and Linux.. |
