Is the ALSA output plugin still broken in XMMS?
I've just always been told to "just use the OSS emulation", but I'd like to get ALSA working in XMMS, if at all possible.
Right now, the sound works, but it plays it 2-3x too fast.
Thanks for the help. _________________ Gentoo Currently installed on:

Alsa output in xmms worked fine for me. Is your alsa setup correctly ( do you have alsasound with other applications? )
Did you compile it fix or as module?

I emerged alsaplayer, and alsaplayer just outputs garbage (not sure if this is just alsaplayer, or whatnot - XMMS at least outputs something nice to listen to).
I compiled the alsa driver as a module, and basically just followed the Gentoo ALSA guide.
Here's my /etc/modules.d/alsa
Code: |
alias snd-card-0 snd_powermac
alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0
alias /dev/mixer snd-mixer-oss
alias /dev/dsp snd-pcm-oss
alias /dev/midi snd-seq-oss
options snd cards_limit=1
