dopo aver fatto emerge gentoo-dev-sources, ho fatto make menuconfig per inserirmi tutti i parametri che mi servono all'interno del kernel!
a questo punto, fecendo make && make modules_install per compilare il kernel mi da una cosa alla fine che non so cos'è!
if [ -r System.map]; then /sbin/depmod -ae -F System.map 2.6.9-gentoo-r4; fi
significa che è andato tutto bene o che devo inserire dei comandi nel make?

tutto bene, tutto perfetto 
ora basta che ti copi l'immagine in /boot etc etc e via, verso nuovi confini!

anche se non sto nel topic giusto ve lo chiedo ugualmente!
ho fatto emerge hotplug e mi ha detto che è morto e defunto...mi ha detto anche di emergermi coldplug e di aggiungere questo come default all'avvio! perchè? |

Hanno separato hotplug in 2 parti coldplug serve per il caricamento dei moduli al boot. Se cerchi nel forum italiano trovi anche un bel post di motaboy
