I am currently trying to install gentoo64 on my computer. But it doesnt see my onboard lan. I have a MSI K8N Neo Platinum motherboard....do I have to modprobe? And if so, does anyone know what the chipset is for the modprobe?

The chipset is NVidia's NForce3, I believe.
You should probably try drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_nforce_amd64_1.0-0283.html

You could also try the reverse-engineered nForce ethernet driver:
Code:
Device Drivers -->
  Networking support -->
    Ethernet (10 or 100 Mbit) -->
      EISA, VLB, PCI and on board controllers -->
        Reverse Engineered nForce Ethernet support (EXPERIMENTAL)
