|
|
I wanna install a dual-boot xp & gentoo on my asus l3800s.
XP is already installed. When I'm installing gentoo and give the command:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hdaBOOT bs=1024 count=1024
I get permission denied. My right on disk hda are r-xr-xr-x So that's why the permission is denied.
Should I just make it rwxr-xr-x?
Does this has any effect on XP?
Anyway tnx for reading |

Hi l0gic!
Did you really enter "hdaBOOT" or did you replace "BOOT" with the partition number of your "boot partition"?
bye
