I really got a problem. I was installing Gentoo on a Debian box remotely over ssh, following a guide I've found. Basically it was "tagging" all files by setting them to a specific date, untar stage3 over / and start to install as usual. I did the first two, but now I get errors like this error EVERY command I execute:
tar: relocation error: /lib/tls/libpthread.so.0: symbol __libc_stack_end, version GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file ld-linux.so.2 withlink time reference
/bin/bash: relocation error: /lib/tls/libc.so.6: symbol _dl_starting_up, version GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file ld-linux.so.2 with link time reference
nano: /lib/tls/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.3.4' not found (required by nano)
I'm absolutely stuck! The problem is, I need to fix this over SSH, I have no physical access to the machine. Is there some variable I could export to make this work again? Absolutely nothing works, I tried nano, emerge, cat, ls, tar ... |

I forgot: Before this happened, I was emerging webmin, and when this was finished and portage came to the point where it says "regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache" this errors started. |
