I'm about to pulling my hair out, if this has already been asked, I appologize, since my frustration is too great!!
Is there a way to effectively set sofware mixing with this card and ALSA??
Specificly, I want to be able to have GAIM and XMSS coexisting just fine, and I want to be able to play on-line games with TeamSpeak.

Yes I have this same problem, like I can play music in XMMS.. Then close it after that my sound stops working I gotta restart alsasound to make it work again. I dunno wtf it is my card is a Chaintech AV-710 (ENVY24HT-S)

I use an m-audio delta audiophile, so envy24 too, and use following ~/.asoundrc
