at the very start of insallation, gentoo stops while loading modules; scanning for iee1394...
compaq presario 2500 laptop
gentoo 2004.2
could someone please tell me how to fix this problem |

you can start the livecd with different kernel and options... press F1/F2 when you are getting the prompt when booting up, before it gets to the nice gentoo screen... |

Try to use ACPI on the startup, I think it fix that problem for laptops. (I think I've read about it here on the foruns, but I don't own a laptop so I never had that kind of problems)

Me too got a problem when installing gentoo 2004.2 on my presario 2500 laptop...
It`s stop when try to load iee1394 module...
can someone help me how to skip iee1394 loading process...
ACPI on also not working... |
