I'm running Gentoo 2004.1 with a 2.6.81 kernel. When I choose to shut down the computer (in KDM) the system stops all services and everything and finally writes "Power down" on the screen but the computer is not actually turned off. I remember that working with SuSE and Windows. Any ideas ? |

Hi horstenpeter!
I don't know much about this issue myself but by doing a search on the forum for "powerdown" I found these two threads (here & here) that look like they might be helpful.
I hope this helps.
Best regards,
