|

When doing very consuming tasks, such as compiling something or copying a few gigs, my cpu uses 100% of resources on that 1 task.. My mouse will stick and all other applications will lag until that process is complete. I believe that some kernel option is missing, does anyone know what option I probably forgot to enable? |

that happens.
you cna stt the process w/ nice -n commang
where n is a number -19 to 20 and the default is 0. To make a process take more resources use a neg. number, to amke it act nicer to the rest of the sys, use a pos #.
Otherwise i haven't seen a way to get past theis w/ the current kernels. 2.6 will address this though. _________________ Aim:gsfgf0 |

I've never seen this happen, and I've got crappier hardware than the median Gentoo user. Have you read the venerable my harddrive performance is sucking? _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
