I updated a whole lot of packages today. OpenSSH, ProFTPd and qmail all stopped working (none of them would accept connections and the logs showed no problems). I recompiled openssh and proftpd and that seemed to fix it. However qmail is still not working properly. It seems to be receiving mail OK but POP is not working at all. qmail-pop3d is definitely running but if I telnet to port 110 it says connection refused. I stopped iptables and that had no effect.
Anyone know what could be wrong?? Gotta get this fixed asap, people will start getting annoyed when they cant get email :S
Thanks |

It doesn't look like anything can start on port 110. But I ran fuser -n tcp 110 and it came back with nothing. |

Never mind! Problem is solved...
Was really weird because after updating a lot of packages (none of which were qmail), qmail's config files got corrupted some how... like it was wanting to start the pop server on port 25. |
