Ciao,
Ho deciso di fare un bel emerge --update world, seguito da un etc-update dei file che richiedevano di essere modificati... quando riavvio mi si e' presentato un messaggio al boot
"ERROR: Problem starting needed services. "netmount" was not started." e la rete non funziona, compreso il mouse USB, sembra quasi che il servizio hotplug dopo l aggiornamento non funzioni correttamente.. infatti molti moduli che prima avevo ora sono inesistenti!!!
..allora mi sono caricato il modulo della mia scheda di rete e ora sono qui a postare!

Forse devo fare un downgrade del pacchetto hotplug? Avete qualche soluzione?

| Devi installare Coldplug che si occupa di caricare i moduli per i dispositivi collegati "a freddo", e poi inserirlo nel runlevel di boot. |

ok grazie! ..pero' perche' hotplug non funziona piu' e prima del update funzionava?

Non me ne voglia fedeliallalinea 
Hotplug ormai si occupa solo dei dispositivi collegati "a caldo", ovvero collegati a macchina accesa. Hanno diviso i compiti a due servizi distinti. |

ahhhhh ok!!!! Ma questo da quando???? A me prima mi si caricava tutto solo con hotplug e dopo l'update e' cambiato tutto!! mah.. ho preso un colpo!
Cmq ora funzione!

Il nome "hotplug" e' fuorviante. Come mai non gli hanno cambiato nome? Chesso': bootplug? initplug? o simili.

A me del nome non me ne importa molto.. voglio solo capire perche' prima hot plug si occupava sia dei moduli al boot che a runtime e ora deve essere accompagnato da coldplug al boot....

Perché fuorviante? Hotplug = a caldo, Coldplug = a freddo... mi sembra abbastanza lineare. |
