|
|
I just upgraded my kernel from 2.6.7-r8 to 2.6.9-r4 (gentoo-dev-sources).
When I rebooted also threw out some errors along the lines of:
/usr/sbin/alsactl: set_control: 805: warning: name mismatch (blah blah blah)
I got about 4 of those with different "blah blah blahs." It's only a warning and my sound is still working...it might be alsa "adjusting" to the new kernel, so I'll have to see if it comes up again next reboot.
If anyone has seen this warning and know if its bad or whatever, reply please _________________ ---

Yeah, Alsa is built into my kernel. The warnings are persisting between reboots, BTW. _________________ ---

I don't know about the rest of you, but I just tried runinng alsaconf again, and it fixed things. I have no idea what it did, but it's worth a try. Good luck! _________________ Flying is the art of throwing yourself at the ground and missing.
