I have a XP machine that I want to set up as dual boot.

I have a knoppix CD to boot it from.

The hardware is pretty close to that of my main Gentoo system

It seems I should be able to just copy across the contents of my system, make a few ajustments to /etc/fstab since the partitions are not layed out the same, then chroot to my new Gentoo to setup grub and finish the job.

Am I being over optomistic or is it sensible.

Thanks 8)

Sounds good. Its the same as putting a new HD setting up your partiitions and copying your stuff to them. You will have to update your kernel for your new board hardware.

Thanks,

I'm probably making life harder than it needs to be , I'll just plug my HD in to the new maching since I dont have the two fully networked it will be quicker.

Just wanted to make sure I was not missing somthing important, it seemed too easy.
