II first ran emerge with -f flag, now, while compiling, I got this error msg :

Code:
checking for XML::Parser... configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool

!!! ERROR: dev-util/intltool-0.31.2 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 449, Exitcode 1
!!! econf failed
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.

someone had this problem before ? I would apreciate any help on how to overcome this problem

thx in advance

seems like you've got a problem with the perl xml-parser. So try reemergeing dev-perl/XML-Parser.
If that doesn't solve your problem you could try a revdep-rebuild, but be warned, this can take quite a while.

a simple reemerge or revdep-rebuild?

yes and no.portage should know wich packages are installed and take care that the dependecies are okay. But portage does not know, if the installation of a package is somehow borked. I had similar problems with a perl package a few days ago, but all I know is, that perl seems a bit difiicult to upgrade. I simply didn't read the emerge messages while upgrading perl (or at leas I think so)
Code:

2069-perl-5.8.4.log:4880: * If this is an upgrade to a perl 5.6.1 system,
2069-perl-5.8.4.log:4881: * ~OR~ an upgrade to a previous Gentoorelease
2069-perl-5.8.4.log:4882: * of perl 5.8.0, prior to -r8
2069-perl-5.8.4.log:4883: * you may need to recompile applications that
2069-perl-5.8.4.log:4884: * were emerged against the old libperl.so
2069-perl-5.8.4.log:4885: *
2069-perl-5.8.4.log:4886: */var/tmp/portage-pkg/perl-5.8.4/inf/files/libperl_rebuilder
2069-perl-5.8.4.log:4887: * is provided to assist with this.
2069-perl-5.8.4.log:4888: * PLEASE DO NOT INTERRUPT THE RUNNING OF THIS SCRIPT.
2069-perl-5.8.4.log:4889: * Part of the rebuilding of applications compiled against
2069-perl-5.8.4.log:4890: * your old libperl involves temporarily unmerging

2069-perl-5.8.4.log:4891: * them - interruptions could leave you with unmerged
2069-perl-5.8.4.log:4892: * packages before they can be remerged.

As you can see, there's as well a libperl_rebuilder script, wich one could try. (but on my system the real path is: /usr/portage/dev-lang/perl/files/libperl_rebuilder)
