Ie
Heigth*Width*(BPP/*3 bytes?
If so - it's a pitty, cuz i've got only 4066k of video ram on my ATI Rage LT, and it's no good to run eighter 800x600, or 8bit 1024x768 on my 1024x768 laptop display Is there any way to get over it? I like all the proc of the COMPOSITE extension of X.Org, but it's damn slow without DRI... Maybe there's some way to speed it up without DRI? Generally i don't need 3d acceleration, only 2d... So maybe i can get over it by using something like xv, or maybe utah-GLX, or i dont know what else! I'm thinking of moving to XFBDirect... As there's accelerated frame buffer for Mach64 cards... But it lacks many things (for example touchpad support), so I DON't really want to use it! What's the reason for that 3 in formula? Does it correspond to triple buffering? If so - is it possible && reasonable to turn it off? Any advice is welcome! |

Yep - i' d ask the question - which extension uses COMPOSITION extension of x.org? Does it work using DRI, or X-Video, or GLX? There should be someone, who knows it! X-video seems to be working with such cards with no triks... |
