I'm having trouble getting stella to recognize its properties file (/etc/stella.pro) correctly. The built-in documentation (stella -help) seems to imply that the file can be kept in /etc/stella.pro, but when I run stella without any extra command-line arguments, none of my cartridge image files are recognized.
If I pass the path to the properties file using the "-altpro /etc/stella.pro" command-line option, the games are recognized correctly. What's really bizarre is that if I put a line for the altpro option into /etc/stellarc, the games again are not recognized.
Has anybody else seen this? Am I overlooking something obvious?
Edit: Yep, I was overlooking something obvious. Apparently stella had autosaved a stellarc configuration file in ~user/.stella at some point, and it was overriding anything I put in /etc/stellarc. So, I can either add the altpro option to ~user/.stella/stellarc, or just copy /etc/stella.pro to ~user/.stella/stella.pro. Not exactly intuitive, but at least it works now. _________________ Proud to be a... eh, forget it.
