Is anybody else having problems with ego_search (when you click in that link to see your messages)?

For me, it just keeps trying to load the page but never finishes...

Funny enough, search capabilities are working. I am using search Bloody* to retrieve the list of messages I've post.

I think the problem is that you have too many posts. Works for me. :P

Seriously, there are some database lock contention issues between searching and posting in phpBB that can cause things to behave this way. After some other things that we're working on to improve forums performance, we may look at trying to address this also.

Hahaha you have 5x more posts than me. Don't try to embarass me :P
EDIT well, 6x

Now it is working again. My suggestion here would be to have two different ego_searchs, one returning only the last 50-100 posts. But I guess that this depends on the phpBB software, therefore I don't know how hard this would be to implement.

AFAIK, this is the default behavior in phpBB. When you click on a thread or search result that has more than one page of posts associated with it, phpBB only retrieves the posts that it needs for that particular page. Click on the "next page" link, and phpBB then queries to retrieve the posts it needs for that page.

It may appear as though it's returning all posts, but it's really just figuring out how many total posts you have (which is a single field in the database, btw) and then doing the math to figure out how many pages that translates into.
