no luck

i tried mount /dev/sr0 -t iso9660 /mnt/cdrom1
mount: /dev/sr0 is not a valid block device

mount -t /dev/sr0 iso9660 /mnt/cdrom1
mount: fs type /dev/sr0 not supported by kernel

and i am using udev without coldplug

this may help it worked fine with redhat

i found in the usb section on the kernel support for hp CDRW0 82xx which i enabled i have an hp 8200
