I've never gotten Rhythmbox to to output sound on Gentoo, but have on other Linux distros and NetBSD; why would it not work with a running EsounD and Gstreamer-0.10.2? |

I'm also having this problem, but with gstreamer 0.8.11 and alsa. All other sounds in gnome work. |

have you set ESD as the default sink/output in GStreamer? _________________ GNU/Linux is an operating system.
IBM OS/2 is half an operating system.
Windows is a shell.
DOS is a boot partition virus. |

Neither the ESD or alsa settings work. Emerging with debug support reveals nothing. |

Have you compiled your system with the esd USE flag enabled?
Have you slided up the volume button in rhythmbox aswell? As it's on the lowest setting by default, which can cause you are not able to hear anything. |
