I have a P2 Laptop with 192MB Ram. It also have a swap partition of 192MB, on the DMA66 Harddrive of the old laptop.

Whenever the need of the memory exceed 192MB it will use swap memory and the system response just become really slow.

So I came across an idea that is it possible to use my 256 USB Flashdrive as its swap memory? Will it cause any harm to the system or itself?

Thanks!

Your P2 laptop probable doesn't have USB 2, so your stuck with 12mbit...

flash drives can only be written a finite number of times. While that number is in the 1000s, you would use it up pretty quickly if you were swapping.

So is there a good way to increase my laptop memory as it supports maximum 192MB SDRAM only....
