Ciao a tutti!!!
sono di recente passato al kernel della serie 2.6 messo le glibc con ntpl, fatto un po' di aggiornamenti e fin qui tutto bene.
adesso però i programmi da utente normale sono molto lenti a caricare, o meglio sembra come se partissero a caricare diversi secondi dopo che li ho avviati. da root invece è tutto ok. ho provato anche con un altra utenza che non usavo da molto tempo e fa lo stesso scherzo.
sembra come se indipendentemente dal programma che carico ci sia un tempo di attesa costante.

nei log del kernel non ho notato nulla di particolare.

Ho fatto qualche prova con gdb provando a caricare diversi applicativi(per esempio rox-filer)mi diceva che era impossibile creare thread LWP(lightweight process, penso) quindi ho rifatto l'emerge dell glibc e il problema è scomparso, però il caricamento è sempre lento.

Non con tutti i programmi però hanno lo stesso comportamento, in generale con i programmi gtk+ e qt da' il problema, invece con xterm worker Eterm no, però ho provato a rifare l'emerge delle gtk+ e continua a fare lo stesso.
Adesso sto' ricompilando il gcc.

Inoltre fbrun fa lo stesso e non è linkato alle gtk ne qt

ti mando il log dell'avvio, dopo non ha datto altri messaggi significati a parte un po' di log del firewall

al momento ho un kernel "2.6.10-rc2-vv_e2" vivid configurato preemptible, prima avevo i sorgenti nitro4, per un po' è andato e poi faceva uguale

sto incominciando a non capirci più nulla 8O

Fallo contento e diabilita quella feature :-P


Se hai scomodato gdb a questo punto scomoda anche strace che va un pò meglio con le chiamate di sistema ;-)

semplice, ma geniale !!!

nei vari aggiornamenti avevo installato anche nuove font, per cui prima di caricare il programma faceva molte open ai file di queste, è bastato fare fc-cache -fv e tutto è tornato alla normalita :D

era una cavolata, ma senza il suggerimento di usare strace rischiavo di impazzirci...
