I hate to admit it but it was the later. It really helps to name the file correctly (si.po == wrong || sl.po == right). So now someone tell me how to submit the localisation. Not that anyone would use it tho :(

*edit* Nevermind, dj2 told me how already.

I've made an ebuild for the newly released e17genmenu-0.1.7 - works fine with the cvs-versions of DR17...

wierd. Just tried to reemerge entrance and I get this error:

* CVS modules e17/apps/entrance is now in /var/tmp/portage/entrance-9999/work
cp: missing destination file
Try 'cp --help' for more information.

!!! ERROR: x11-misc/entrance-9999 failed.
!!! Function gettext_modify, Line 85, Exitcode 1
!!! could not copy gettextsize

It worked the last time I tried it. The only thing I've done (which is quite a big change) since then is play around with my CFLAGS and emerge -e world. No other package suffers this problem. I've tried removing the CFLAGS I added and the problem stays the same.

PostPosted: Tue Apr 26, 2005 10:11 pm    Post subject: E17 CVS and Engage Reply with quote

So, being the brave (or is it silly) sot that I am, I decided today that it was time to start messing with E17. Wow, cool stuff. A lot different than the fluxbox I have been using for the last couple of years. Anyhow, I am most impressed with engage. I currently have the CVS version of E17 and engage compiled and running quite nicely. However, I was wondering if there is a way to change the theme for engage without a bunch of code hacking (not that I can't, I'm just kinda lazy like that). I loaded engage in fluxbox with the Gentoo theme and I really liked that theme better than the default one.

Any help is appreciated.

And props to all of the E developers out there. If this CVS version of E17 rocks this hard, I can't wait to see the final release.

You need to "hack" your way through the engage source. No big deal actually. all you have to do is change some pictures and/or colours (I have mine transparent).

OK. I figured as much, but thought I would ask first. I did try this:

Code:

# mv modules.ecd modules.ecd.default
# cp gentoo.ecd modules.ecd

and then attempted to recompile engage, but it borked. I will look through the docs and get it figured out.

Working fine here - it's not crashing or anything (at least here). Updated yesturday so I'd say the current CVS version is worth a try. It's still development software so no guarantees and so on though. KDE apps run fine in E17, but there's no system tray of course. I think you can use something like pypanel etc for that though. I run k3b, kwrite and amarok in E17 pretty often and they at least don't have any issues. You can find screenshots at http://www.us.get-e.org/Screenshots/User_Submitted.html

That's a theme for the standalone version, they don't work in the module version.

E17 has been quite stable for me. I built everything from cvs yesterday, and no major problems so far. I do find myself restarting E17 a lot, but that may just be me. I am using engage as my dock.

Eclair won't respond after I push play.
Evidence seems to work nicely.
Gonna play with Entrance here in a couple of days. I messed with it some, but it seems that there is some config'ing that I have to do.

So overall I am very impressed. For CVS code that should be unstable, this is stable as hell.

In the last month I had 2, maybe 3 crashes... all related to gkrellmms.

About eclair playing.. you have to nudge the time slider a little. It'll start playing. And on that note... I heard euphoria hit CVS a day or two ago. More work for jxn :P ? (building an ebuild that is).

Anyone have problems with base modules(ibar, pager, clock, etc...) when I try to load one of these modules I get this error. This happened ~5 days ago after updating e. I've tried reinstalling e17 and removing ~/.e without luck

EDIT: forgot to mention that dropshadows works

try recompiling all EFL/E17 apps again in the correct order

I'm using build order listed here: http://www.us.get-e.org/Documentation/User_Guide_pages/2.1.html
This should be correct? Also I've updated all libs at same day

I guess my next question is, is it still as light and fast as e16 or does all the fancy new things build it up and slow it down ?

well, read the guide at http://get-e.org before asking things :). if e17 is installed, both - module and standalone will be built.

Very fast here, depends on the theme of course.

S4kk3: yup that order is correct

I'd be glad to do it, but I haven't gotten a working ebuild for xmms2 yet (damn scons! damn jack.os!) after trying every couple of days for the last 3 months. I've heard that the nightlies from last february build, but since there have been a lot of changes, I don't really want to use the old version...plus, I'm not sure if euphoria will build using older versions of xmms2 considering tsauerbeck is sort of a part of the xmms2 dev-team so he's probably using the version in bitkeeper.

Anyway, xmms2 should be released soon, (as you can see there's still some work to be done) and then an ebuild should be possible...for now, I'm just waiting (impatiently, as always when it comes to cool e17 toys :) ).

edit: I just checked, and as of TODAY the xmms2 nightly installs via ebuild!!! However, it doesn't quite work properly yet...but it's a step forward.
