When i boot the computer i log in to a terminal.
From that terminal i type "startx".

Now, when i want to view the information from that terminal, i have to press "Ctrl + Alt + F1".

Is it possible to output the info in X?

What information do you want to see? For the Kernel output you can just type
Code:
dmesg
in any Xterm.

I want to be able to see the exact output of what is on that console.

For example: when i'm emerging something. Or to see the messages generated by gaim, xmms etc.

For that i would have to switch to the console. I would be cool if i could just output it into a terminal and view it from my desktop.

I hope someone understands what i mean...

Not entirely...

If you want to start emerging something in X and see the output, then simply start it in a terminal emulator designed to run under X, like the already mentioned Xterm. Similarly, if you want to see the output from xmms or any other graphical programme, start them in a terminal emulator as well.

Ok, i get that. But when i'm in x, and i start a program from my fluxbox menu it wil output messages in the first console. (ie Ctrl + Alt + F1)

Also when i'm emerging something big, i like to do that from a console (ie Ctrl + Alt + F2) so i can safely restart x without having to restart compiling.

Is it possible?

Ah, I see. I don't know of a way to do exactly what you want, but for your emerge question, you might want to try app-misc/screen. Unfortunately "screen" is a search stopword so I can't search for any tutorials here, but this might be useful: http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2004/3/9/16838/14935
