Hi,
This week I installed a new gentoo system. All works lika charm, but I have a small problem.
I could user usermod perfectly before my emerge of gnome.
I emerged gnome with the following flags: "-qt -kde gtk gnome"
After that, when I try a usermod, I get:

des-1000 root # usermod -G users,wheel,audio,tty louist
usermod: PAM authentication failed
|
I assume gnome emerged PAM for me, yet I didn't know it would affect my usermod.
Maybe someone knows how to solve this? |

no gnome doesnt emerge pam for u.. its a system depdency
reemerge pam, or switch to shadow since thats almost the standart (im still on pam though) |
