ERROR : could not mount the initrd filesystem! genkernel

I don't know why but this is the error it's always giving after I run genkernel, any thoughts appreciated.

when you ran genkernel was /boot mounted? it normally automatically copies it there, but if it isn't mounted then you may have problems. Also, if it was copied correctly did you put the initrd line into the grub.conf file?
