Running anything on an old PC sucks. I cant believe some people here use PII's. I would die, shrivel up and die if I had to use one and wait 6 hours to compile baselayout ;) Nothing beats a 3 hours compilation of OoO :)

Speaking of uselss options, doing a single emerge -aDv world makes more sense here. Don't calculate dependencies more than you have to. ;)

That being said, I do -uD rather than a simple -u.

Doesnt bug me. I dont like ask because sometimes I dont want to install everything listed.

I have not had any problems directly related to updating my system that way, although I only update world once a month or so.
