Das ganze verbirgt sich hinter dem Paket lm-sensors. Einfach emergen und loslegen. :)

Eh...das ist nicht selbstverständlich. Nicht alle Mainboards melden die Temperatur über ACPI, wohingegen sich fast alle per lm_sensors auslesen lassen (aber Finger weg davon bei IBM-Thinkpads)

worin bestehen die unterschiede bei den verschiedenen vorschlägen?
geht eine der möglichkeiten ohne einfluss auf den kernel?!

Also für alles was auf I²C aufbaut (lm-sensors z.B.) mußt du Teile des Kernels neu übersetzen. Was xmbmon genau tut weiß ich leider nicht.
