I'm installing a new system for my fiancee, she's been running Linux for the last two years, and she's very comfortable with it, just installing a distro like Gentoo scares her to death. Anayway, she knows GIMP 2.x and she did not like it, she's bugging me toinstall GIMP 1.x... The problem is that I don't see it in Portage... How can I install GIMP 1.x if emerge --search gimp only returns packages matching for GIMP 2.x? Thanks. |

Something like:
Code: | emerge '=gimp-1.2.5' |
should do it, it's the only 1.x version of the Gimp I can find in portage. |

Adding ">media-gfx/gimp-1.2.5" to /etc/portage/package.mask will allow you to emerge gimp normally and not have it bother you in emerge -uD world. |
