|
|
I have some Etherlink III cards, both ISA (3c509) and PCI (3c590). None of then support auto-negotiation of full duplex (according to the kernel documentation), but they do support full duplex if it is enforced from both sides (can be set on the card using the Etherdisks).
Problem is I have an unmanaged, simple 5-port SOHO switch. Can I somehow enforce full duplex on these cards without a managed switch? |

JanErik,
You will have to build the drivers as modules and pass the correct parameters at load time.
Experiment with modprobe, when you get it to work, it can be anutomated.
Your switch does full duplex ? _________________ Regards,
