Yeah, reiser4 again... I've been using reiserfs for quite some time and I simply loved it eversince I started using it. I read an article recently about the Reiser4 and what it could do, so I decided to try it... What I couldn't wait to try was the "metas" pseudo-folder....
So I took the patch, patched the kernel, rebooted, emerged reiser4progs, formated a whole partition, I created a file, chmoded to rwxrwxrwx, then chdir test.txt/metas... error: No such file or directory (
I'm now running the 2.6.9-nitro4 kernel, with the reiser4 patch in it, and still no success. I've tried LQ, googling around for the past week and still no success. Am i missing something?
[edit]
Forgot to mention... I'm using an AMD64, and I can't compile reiser4progs, the latest ebuild... something ending with "recompile with -fPIC" even though it was compiled with this option.

Odd.. I thought I replied to this... anyways:
1. Unmerging and recompiling did the trick... I have reiser4progs-1.0.2 compiled and working . 10x
2. I read your thread and I can't wait to stress test my partition
3. I reverted the patch and now I have access to the metas folder... now I've got a new toy to play around with
4. In my version it's still called metas. the version is the one suppiled withthe nitro4 sources |
