When done upgrading to the 2.6 kernel using genkernel to compile, I got the message below
Code: |
gx-suspmod: error: no MediaGX/Geode processor found
|
while the system tried to boot. Does this mean that genkernel has specified the wrong processor in the menuconfig? |

I'm getting the same error. You have found a solution? |

Well not really. I reckon the problem is that support has been added for the wrong processor in the kernel (the geode thingy sounds like a processor, or maybe a video card)
I recompiled the kernel after going through the configuration manually. It's not as hard as I thought; many of the options are put to the correct value by default and there is some info if you want about nearly all of the selections.
Just make sure you tick the bits that it says in the installation docs and you should be ok. If you need anything later, it's easy to recompile with the new options added. I'd also compile it straight into the kernel too rather than as modules. I've seen loads of posts about modules not being found properly.
Good Luck |
