Anyone of you have it working under cedega? For me it starts but shows only black screen.

Code:
kaikki@gentoo nfsu2 $ cvscedega speed2.exe

NFS:U 1 rusn with cedega yes (with a performance hit of course, I wonder when transgaming starts optimizing their direct3d support because it not really usefull running a new direct3d windows game with only 50% of the performance)

Don't have it anymore. CD's missing. Everyone says it's just working with only installing and adding line in config but doesn't work for me. Could it be problem with cedega-cvs?

Ok. it works with newest non-cvs cedega. Downloaded time demo version and thought of buing it. It runs pretty good. FPS between 20-30 in 640x480. But sometimes it drops under 10 settings are medium quality. It works better for me if pixel shaders are enable.
How could I increase performance of cedega. Is there anything that should be enabled? Kernel? xorg.conf? cedega config?

It runs here with Cedega 4.1 almost perfect.
I installed it on a windows machine en just copied the installation folder.
It crashes when you try to change the graphic detail and something the sound would fall out for a bit. Other than that it works like it should.

It crashes if you try to adjust detail level but if you take custom details you can change everything except the first choice in the list.

I tried installing it with both cedega and the loki installer without much luck, the pure cedega install didnt start, and the loki one just gave me a black screen.

How do I copy the install from windows over?

Also, has anyone played it in windows? It is extremely slow and if you turn the graphics up its almost unbareable...

I've played it on my XP gaming box with a 9800pro and it is just playable with max details at 1024x768 and 6xAA 8xAF, usually around 35-40fps. If you're having speed problems it's probably your video card; try turning things like pixel shaders off and reflection rates down.

Moutn your ntfs-Partition and copy it to your TransGaming_drive in your home-directory.

In Windows it runs really fast on my system...didn't try @ linux till now.

Thats really weird, my system isnt exactly weak since it runs UT2k4 and Doom3 at max with no problems.

AMD 2700XP +
Nvidia FX5200 256meg
c-media sound (doesnt matter since I only use headphones for games)
1.5gig of pc2700 ram

maybe i'll try it in linux since i've done a full install in windows. either way if it does/doesnt work it wont bother me. I picked up an xbox version yesterday :P

Well I would consider a 5200 quite weak for a game like NFSU2...(a 5200 is about equal to a geforce3), can you really play doom3 at max detail?? 8O

Yes I can play doom3 without any problems at max detail. I also don't have any problems with anyother games. But like i said, owell. I bought it for xbox so I'm good. Besides, I think playing racing games on consoles is better anyways. I was just hoping I could get another game to work in linux.

Aeehhh...excuse me.

Are you really sure, that you are unsing a nVidia GeForce FX5200 on that system and running DOOM3 on max graphics?

Sorry but....I can't really believe it...

Installed it with loki installer. And edited /usr/local/bin/nfsu2
Code:
WINE_NAMES="cedega"

So it uses only cedega not wine or winex.
You can grab mine config here

You can't even install it... EA has locked the installer to DirectX 9.0c
The demo ran fine, after editing autorun/autorun.conf (set 9.0c to 9.0b :p )

I didn't have to edit that file. Maybe cause I installed it with cvs-cedega but using normal cedega now.

I had same problems with cvs-cedega. Change your ~/.transgaming/config so it launches in window and you can see error messages.

You have no-cd patch?
