Can anyone instruct me on how to setup autoplay. For instance, if I put in an audio cd, I would like xmms to start playing the cd. Or if I put in a DVD, ogle will start playing the DVD. While we're on the subject, is there a way to enable DMA on the DVD drive by default. Well, I'm sure there's a way, but I dont' know how. Every time I put a DVD in, I have to 'hdparm -d 1 /dev/hda' to get the movie to play without skipping. This seems to go away every time I eject the disk. So, how to mount upon inserting disk? and how to keep DMA set on /dev/hda? Thanks. |

Lost my original post...
Code: |
hdparm -k1 /dev/hdx
--or--
echo "keepsetting:1" > /proc/ide/hdx/settings
|
Don't rely on the second one; I'm on a lab M$ machine right now and can't verify the exact name of the variable. |

I realize this is old, but I found this:

Its a small program that has a simple XML config file. I'm going to start using it.
Maybe I'll make an ebuild for it. |
