What should I set my CHOST setting to when doing a stage1 installation. I have an iBuddie A900 and it has a
1 GigaPro Mobile CPU
EBGA packing
Full speed 128KB L1/64KB L2 cache
100/133MHz FSB support
Enhanced 3DNow! & MMX technology
0.15micron manufacturing processor.
Shoul I use this:
Pentium MMX (Intel)
CHOST="i586-pc-linux-gnu"
CFLAGS="-march=pentium-mmx -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
CXXFLAGS="-march=pentium-mmx -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" _________________ Gentoo and I have an On-Off relationship.... |

Not a Pentium MMX? How do you know that? For future references of course.
I also just noticed that under CFLAGS="-02 -mcpu=i686 -fomit-frame-pointer"
Why does it say i686? _________________ Gentoo and I have an On-Off relationship.... |

Becase the iBuddie (what a name - they should be friggin shot) carries a VIA C3 processor - which is equivalent to an i586.
Which is the official name for the Pentium-1. _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /
