|
|
hi all, i tried installing gentoo, got upto kernel download by
# emerge gentoo-sources
the kernel was downloaded then i compile the kernel with the
#make bzImage && make modules && make modules_install && make install
it starts compiling but stops saying Error 1. I'm posting the last few lines of the error ....
drivers/media/media.o(.text+0x26470): In function 'init_bttv_i2c':
: undefined reference to 'i2c_bit_add_bus'
make: *** [vmlinux] Error 1
there are a lot of the first two lines... drivers/media and the : undefined reference with different fuctiion names, and finally the compilation fails with the Error 1 message. Can anyone give me a suggestion please. Thanks _________________ ak |

I don't know about the error, but have you tried another kernel version? May be gentoo-dev-sources? |

did you enable I2C in the config?
Looks like you want to use a TV card.
Go to /usr/src/linux/Documentation and check what needs to be
enabled for tv-cards.
