I don't know where these errors come from, but I'm having them for months now. Though it seems not to influence any mail delivery. It's just that I don't like errors in my logs.

Messages as below are shown up all the time in /var/spool/qmailscan/qmail-queue.log:

Code:
Thu, 02 Dec 2004 21:35:15 CET:12553: error_condition: X-Qmail-Scanner-1.24st: d_m: output spotted from /usr/bin/ripmime  --unique_names -i - -d /var/spool/qmailscan/tmp/server2110201971568012553/ (mime.c:2230:MIME_generate_multiple_hardlink_filenames:WARNING: While trying to create '/var/spool/qmailscan/tmp/server2110201971568012553/Eleni/Fipresci award/efa.doc' link to '/var/spool/qmailscan/tmp/server2110201971568012553/efa.doc' (No such file or directory)
) - that shouldn't happen!

Have you got a solution?

I'm having the same problem, but only from one sender.
The sender uses Outlook Express on Mac OS, maybe its
an encoding problem.

!!! In my case these mail get not delieverd !!!

For a while i thought it was a problem with temporary
file creation in combination with umlauts but now i'm
not so sure.

No, those msgs still appear... Though, i did not get any reports of loss, so I suppose it's harmless in my case. Still I'd like to get rid of it, since it's annoying not to know where it comes from.

It is perfectly possible that the senders of those mails also use OE on Mac, so you could be right about the encoding problem. Hopefully there are more ppl with the same problem, then we're able to analyse it better.

Yesterday i changed the mimeunpacker in the qmail-scanner-queue.pl to
Code:

$mimeunpacker_binary='/usr/bin/reformime'

and those not delieverd messages get delieverd :D

So for me it looks like my problem has been solved.

Tnx! It seems to work for me too :) At least it hasn't show any errors like these for one day. Hopefully it stays that way.
