Currently I have a Samba PDC for all my windows boxes that maps drives and such. Of course this is only for my windows machines. Is there something simular for linux. I know NFS allows me to make shares but it doesn't mount drives and such on my different machines nor does it have one location for all my users. _________________ Cry Havoc and Let Slip the dogs of War! |

If you install and configure NIS(+) you can map NFS mounts as users' home directories and create effectively the same situation.
Say your NIS server has a user "joe", then from any machine that is NIS-enabled you can login as joe and you will be connected to server:/home/joe instead of local:/home/joe (who doesn't even need to exist, just like a Windows domain). _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /
