I Like gentoo but i have some problems to install it on a Proliant 3000, because i don´t have some SCSI Support. I don´t know how i´m able to get some!!

Another option is to boot some other media instead of the Gentoo CD. For example: if Knoppix recognizes your hardware, install from it instead. Consult the Alternative Installation Guide for further details on this approach. _________________ Sometimes the appropriate response to reality is to go insane.

I only need a How2 for getting scsi Support into gentoo.
I´m only a newbee.
I want to configurate my gentoo on cd so i´m able to use fdisk.

and what is the problem? if you boot from latest livecd, can you see your scsi disk? howto you're looking for is available at www.gentoo.org/doc - look for Handbook.
if the livecd can't detect your scsi controller, you can load "driver" for it manually, or try another livecd, knoppix should be OK (www.knopper.net) |

I own one of those monsters and you need the 1.4 live cd.
I found that it was the only one that could find the scsi drivers for the cd-rom. Then you just need to and then you are off. Dont boot the smp kernel. It runs slow as hell and then just locks up.
I would recomend a distcc server to do most of the work. |
