i am doing a gentoo and xp dual boot, which os is the best to install first?

I am not sure of this, but I have heard that windows will wipe out whatever os is there before it is installed, so you should probably do windows and then gentoo, I think.

No. I guess I was wrong about windows, but I do remember what really happens *I think :lol: * In the handbook it has Windows on the partitions after the gentoo partitions. That way Windows will not take it all over. I believe that when Windows is on the first partition it rewrites all of the partitions after it. Thanks for not taking my advice :wink: It's a good thing you didn't :lol: .

You should install XP first.Its easit if XP is on the fist partion of of the first drive. LIunx doesnt really care where ends up, with end reason.
