Just curious if anyone had gotten the IBM XVP600 webcam to work with Linux or if there was a generic driver/app package that needs to be installed for video support.
I'm looking forward to gaim-vv and I want to make sure that when they do port the stuff back to regular gaim that I have working video support. |

You need to know what chip is in the camera. Google is your friend. _________________ "The song I've written for you is so schmultzy it'll make 'Moon River' sound like a farting orangutan." - Homer Simpson |

It seems like after googling it a bit that this is supported through using the IBM NetCamera and Veo Stingray drivers. Thanks for the tip . Now if only gaim-vv were done by now ;(...
I found the info here: http://www.ibiblio.org/peanut/Kernel-2.6.6/usb/ibmcam.txt. Sure it's not for Gentoo, but it's relevant info for kernel 2.6.6 (and I have 2.6.9, so w00t for me =).) |
