Got this new G5 single 1.8 which I think has a newer firmware, and neither of the 2004.3 liveCD's will boot it. The kernel is hanging on the IDE driver load, last line I see is;
ata1: dev 0 ATA,max UDMA/133, 160006528 sectors: lba48
Is there a workaround or is this machine not booting yet? |

when you say neither of the 2004.3 cds, are you including ppc64? as far as i'm aware, the ppc32 cds are not officially supporting G5 machines. (correct me if i'm wrong). if you havent tried the ppc64, then do so.
if you are using ppc64, then make sure you file a bug report. _________________ ubuntu. |
