Hallo Leute,
ich hab hier ein größeres Problem bei der Installation von Gentoo aus Knoppix heraus. Grub wird ja mittels des Kommandos GRUB in der chroot-Umgebung gestartet. Wenn ich dieses ausführe erscheint nur:
Probing devices to guess BIOS drives. This may take a long time.. Naja, die long time dauert jetzt schon über eine Nacht. Da läuft doch was verkehrt Hat von euch jemand eine Idee?

Deine Beschreibung laesst vermuten, das grub deine Bootfestplatte uebers Bios nicht erkennen kann, was vielleicht an der Knoppix-Distri liegt. Wenn du SCSI-HD hast, musste evtl. die Module sd-mod und sr-mod laden. Bei IDE evtl. spezielle Module fuer deinen IDE-Controller, kenn ich mich aber nicht so aus. Wenn moeglich, guck ma mit ob beim booten deine Festplatten richtig erkannt worden sind.

Oooooauerha!
Thnx für die Hilfe, aber:
Ich hab meine Floppy nicht angeschlossen; brauch ich ja eh nicht mehr. Also hat Grub wohl die ganze Nacht nach der Floppy gesucht
Der Parameter --no-floppy hat das dann auch behoben. |
