What would the password be for vapier, I tried the root password!

Well, I created the user now ... but in the tutorial it didn't mention that? http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/qmail-howto.xml I followed it word for word, line by line, I think ... but it still doesn't work! Anybody that has had this problem or can help out?
