Hi,

I am trying to get a high resolution console up and running using vesafb-tng. My graphics card is a GeForce2 MX and I think it should be working fine but there is no change in the resolution of the console and no sign of the penguin logo!

Here is my grub.conf:
Code:
default 0
timeout 10
splashimage=(hd0,5)/grub/splash.xpm.gz
color white/blue blue/green

title Gentoo
root (hd0,5)Kernel command line: root=/dev/hda7 video=vesafb:ywrap,mtrr,1024x768-32@85

And here is the relevant (I think) of dmesg:
Code:

Kernel command line:root=/dev/hda7 video=vesafb:ywrap,mtrr,1024x768-32@85
Initializing CPU#0
PID hash table entries: 2048 (order: 11, 32768 bytes)
Detected 1214.440 MHz processor.
Using tsc for high-res timesource
Console: colour VGA+ 80x25

Any ideas what is going wrong?

Solved. It was me being silly again. Firstly I had forgotten to compile console framebuffer and logo into the kernel and secondly I copied the kernel to a non-mounted /boot. doh!

Sorry about that.
