Hi
I just wonder if there is a generic stage for both athlon xp and pentium 4?
The case is that I ghave a athlon xp but I getting a new P4 in the weekend, and I want to install Gentoo now.
Any tips on how I should solve this?
Thanks! |

Be more explicit, plz. If you're installing from stage1 youll have no problem. since there only a x86 one. If youre in st3 i see no point in lloking for a generic version, since you can choose the optimized one for your arch. Is anyway you need a generic one then i686 will work with both. |

The highest CPU setting you could use is -march=pentium3 and still have the binaries run on an athlon-xp and a pentium4. |
